Fashion is a passion for many, but for Kwena Baloyi, it’s a calling. Born in Limpopo in a village called Moletjie Ga-Makibelo, Kwena has taken over the Afrikan fashion industry with her eclectic Afrocentric style and head-turning hairstyles. Kwena’s work can be seen in magazines, on TV and on clients who swear by her “magic touch”.
Kwena has been named one of Destiny magazine’s Power of 40 people who are doing amazing things with their craft. She’s also been named CSA Top 15 Young people to keep an eye on, was nominated for Stylist of the Year at the Africa Fashion Awards and is the first nominee and recipient of the Marie Claire New Guard Stylist Award. As a self-proclaimed “style therapist” and “culture curator” Kwena is passionate about telling Afrikan stories and lives to ensure that the continent’s heritage is celebrated daily.
